Lauryn Danae Bremner

Born June 5th, 1986. I grew up between Long Beach and Redondo Beach, CA. Living in working class neighborhoods in the greater Los Angeles county has given me a unique perspective on the world, the people in it and where I fit in. I’ve always belonged nowhere and everywhere, making it easy for me to observe and hear stories from a vast array of backgrounds. The more I expand my sphere of influence, the more I realize we all can belong anywhere when we remove the various importances we’ve assigned to lifestyles, socio-economic backgrounds, cultures etc. The true inert nature of diversity is that there are no boundaries. And to have one universal thought on diversity is the antithesis of diversity in itself. No matter how different a person or place or culture or feeling may be to me, I welcome it. Clearly, I love to learn about people and their stories. Just when you think you have a decent grasp on the human race, people surprise you, if you allow yourself to fully see them. My love for art, self expression, individualism and universal truths about life, love and the human experience have given me a passion to continually explore what humanity has to offer, and how I can better serve it.

Before pursuing a career in art, I was a music teacher for 9 years. With the ensembles I participated in and taught, I traveled the country and in some instances the world. I lived on a bus with people I otherwise never would’ve spoken to and developed life long bonds. The reward of communicating through a universal language like music really opened my eyes to the possibility of finding yourself in others. The work ethic, determination and self reliance I built in that activity directly translated into my artistic pursuits. I applied to ACCD in 2013 and was shocked to find I was accepted. I dropped everything I had built in my music world and dove into my dreams of a career in animation. After working very hard for 4 years, I graduated in 2017 top of my class and was fortunate enough to be hired right away. Since then I have had an amazing career, and have been very lucky to work on the projects I’ve had. I continue to yearn for growth not only in my artistic and technical skills but in my understanding of what kinds of stories could be told and how we can tell them in a way that leaves a lasting impression on our audience.

I currently reside in Chicago, IL with my dog, Hank :)
